Ballard Farmers Market Gleaning – Temporarily Paused

September 22, 2019 @ 2:45 pm – 5:00 pm
Ballard Sunday Farmers Market

The Ballard Farmers Market is suspended until mid-April, thus there will be no volunteer gleaning until the markets resume. We plan to resume our Gleaning Program as soon as public health authorities give the ok.

The generous farmers at the Ballard Sunday Farmers Market donate fresh produce for our hungry neighbors.  Our Market Gleaning project is looking for volunteers to help collect the produce from these generous farmers every Sunday for delivery to the Ballard Food Bank.

If you are interested in helping with the gleaning project on Sundays, 3:30pm – 5:00pm, contact Jennifer.

Teams of gleaners rotate so the commitment is no more than once per month, 3:30-5pm, on Sundays.  Early Spring is a great time to join up — it’s a little slower and less hectic, and you can learn the ropes before things pick up again as we move into warm weather.  The more volunteer teams we have, the less often each team will be put onto the schedule — many hands make light work!

Interested?  Please contact Jennifer for more information or to sign up.
