Town Hall & PNA Present “Carolyn Law: Rural Voices” – Nov 7

Confronting Climate Change Through Community Art

Tuesday, November 7, 7:30pm
Phinney Center – 6532 Phinney Ave N.
Climate change is a universal problem, yet the political debates over it reveal a profound urban-rural divide that makes even conversation about the topic challenging. Join Seattle artist and activist Carolyn Law and director Jim Walls of the Oregon nonprofit Lake County Resources Initiative—as they work to bridge that divide by engaging in a dialogue about our collective plight.

In a unique artistic experience, guests will be invited to speak their minds, first splitting into groups for guided discussion and then coming forward to contribute their own expressions for a project Law calls “Rural Voices” – her collaborative, multidisciplinary community arts project. Law will lead us in an interactive conversation about the growing global crisis and explore collective ideas about what climate change might mean for all of us.

This event is hosted by Phinney Neighborhood Association. For more info on PNA, click here.
