Winter Anti-Racism Discussion/Action Groups Starting in January
We are inviting you to participate with us in the 2023 Coalition of Anti-Racist Whites Cohorts! This is their third year of cohorts, and we are excited to be a part of this year’s offering.
Cohorts are a way to deepen community by building a shared analysis and helping each other stay supported and accountable in our anti-racist actions. Each session will include readings/videos, discussions, and actions to take together. This year, many of the actions will be about fundshifting (how do we, as a collective, shift funds to grassroots, BIPOC-led organizations and coalitions).
Do you want to have a place to talk and take action with others in community and grapple with what it means to be anti-racist? Join us!
For the past two years, cohorts have been built around neighborhoods for people to connect and organize in their area. Sustainable Ballard will be co-facilitating the North End Cohort (#6), but if that timing doesn’t work for you, we recommend you join one of the other cohorts (some of which are organized around themes such as LGBTQIA+; Seattle transplants). The curriculum is the same for each group, but some groups have a particular lens or offer support for those from various communities. Please see group descriptions for more information. Cohort sessions will be via zoom, with possible in-person meetings later on depending on participant interest.

What’s the time commitment?
Cohort meetings: Starting between Jan 4 and Jan 12, 2023
- 2 hour session every other week
- 8 sessions total, ending in April
- Some time reading/viewing material in between sessions
