Volunteer Opportunity: Meals with Neighbors
Meals with Neighbors is a program that connects Ballard neighbors over a nutritious meal, through Sunday Night Dinners and Weekday Breakfasts.
Hunger is a real issue as our city’s cost of living soars. Seattle is in a state of emergency around homelessness. The annual Point in Time count for Seattle / King County found that 12,112 individuals are currently experiencing homelessness and 6,320 people are unsheltered. It can be overwhelming as an individual to know how you can make a difference – and Meals with Neighbors is a small first step that makes a big difference in people’s daily lives.
This program doesn’t just serve meals – it also brings people together to share conversation, get to know one another, and connect. So feel free to join us for dinner at Ballard First Lutheran, Sundays at 5pm. Your healthy and hot meal will come with a side of new friends.
