Tilth Alliance Class: Intro to Permaculture – July 29

10:00am – 1:00pm
Hosted by Tilth Alliance @ Good Shepherd Center, Room 107
Intro to Permaculture

Go beyond organic gardening by learning the basics of permaculture to create a more holistic and sustainable garden! Learn how to use “systems thinking” to create efficient and abundant gardens that integrate human needs with the natural ecosystem.

The goal of permaculture, short for “permanent agriculture” or “permanent culture,” is to minimize inputs and maximize relationships between plants, animals, environment and people.

In this class you will:
·         Learn about permaculture ethics and principles
·         See examples of techniques that can be applied in an urban environment
·         Explore ways to integrate natural patterns and ecology into living systems
·         Practice designing a more holistic and self-sustaining backyard

This class is lecture-based with some group activities and opportunities for questions and discussion.
