New Year’s Greetings
From Andrea Faste, the Acting Board Chair of Sustainable Ballard
Even with all of the challenges of 2020, our tough little non-profit did what we could to continue providing services to our neighbors. Projects that stayed the course were Ballard Sprouts, Little Free Libraries, RainWise, Meals with Neighbors (helping staff Sunday Suppers and Edible Hope at St. Episcopal), Sunday Market Gleaning, Black Lives Matter Solidarity and a very successful Edible Garden Tour. We offered Tool Library lending by appointment, and virtual versions of Knitters for the Homeless, Meaningful Movies, and our Holiday Party and Barter Fair. We look forward to reviving Free Letters Home, and staging a live Ballard Festival in 2021.
We want to thank all of you who participated with your presence and your donations.
Please join us virtually on Thursday, January 14th for our 2021 Annual Meeting. We will highlight program successes and discuss where we are headed in the new year. We are currently seeking applications for two open seats on Sustainable Ballard’s board of directors. We welcome new members eager to strengthen our projects and set new goals for 2021.
