July 1 Edible Garden Tour – nearly twenty gardens to explore!

The 9th Annual Edible Garden Tour is going to be a good one!  With nearly twenty gardens to visit, attendees are sure to find something new and different.

  • Labateyah Youth Home, at 9010 – 13th Ave NW, has received a grant from the city to Labateyah Gardencreate new beds.  Volunteer gardener Fred Miller will be on hand to explain building a hugel, and other aspects of permaculture gardening.  This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about this project in our neighborhood.
  • See a gardener bottling hard cider from his home press at one stop.
  • We are asking one gardener to share his plans for building a raised bed.

And much, much more — talk to gardeners who have been creative with their planting strips, containers, chickens, bees and all sorts of creative edibles from fruit trees to berries to veggies galore.

Saturday, July 1st, 10am – 3pm.  Put on your walking shoes or hop on your bike, unicycle or skateboard and head on over to Kirke Park, 7028 – 9th Ave NW on the day of the tour to buy your ticket and map.
