Now we are ready to celebrate the new totem pole with a dedication ceremony on August 21st. The event will feature the HaidaLauffDancers who will perform the dedication dance. We will also have the opportunity to learn about Whittier Heights Emergency Preparedness, and meet your neighbors. This event will be held around the west side of Baker Park.

Back in 2018 the Whittier Heights Community Council’s was awarded a matching grant from Department of Neighborhoods to replace the totem Pole at Baker Park. Since then, the Baker Park restoration was completed by the Parks Department. By participating in the celebration, our time will be counted to complete the matching fund requirements. We need to have at least 30 attendees to complete the grant.
