Call for Volunteers: Ballard Share and Play!

share-and-play-logoWhat is Ballard Share and Play?
It’s a lot like The Little Free Libraries, but for families to give or take gently used or unused toys, clothing, books, and baby/kid gear.  Share and Play promotes reuse, recycling and recreating while strengthening our community through sharing.

Five initial locations have been selected to host Share and Play bins:  Ballard Community Center, Ballard Health Club, Ballard Natural Medicine, Ballard Playspace & Toast.  We look forward to growing this to many more locations in Ballard.

We are in need of help in four ways:

  • Assemble the IKEA bins in July / early August
  • Help plan a Grand Opening event in late August or September, probably at Toast
  • Maintain three to five bins in the Ballard area, once per week
  • Collect kid-friendly items to fill the bins when they first arrive at their locations
