Ballard Knitters for the Homeless Meeting Virtually

If you need an excuse to knit, join us virtually the third Tuesday of every month.

Spring is a perfect time to sit outside and knit – and this project gives you an excuse to do just that. The chores can wait, right? Soon at least some of us will be hiding from the heat but for now it’s all good! And if you – or a friend are doing stash reduction, donations are always welcome!

We donated 23 hats and 47 scarves in February and 23 hats, 7 scarves, and 2 lap robes in March. Hooray!!

Who we are: people who have never knit before, people who haven’t knit in a long time, and people who are knitting pros! We are happy to teach you to knit or work on a new pattern, and it’s okay if there are mistakes – they’re just as warm and it shows some sincerity. Come enjoy the opportunity to create and keep others warm through the winter.

Bring knitting needles size 9 or 10 and extra yarn to share if you have some – but don’t buy any because we have a stash!

When we meet:  Third Tuesday of every month, 7pm – 9pm normally at The Dane, but virtually during COVID restrictions.  Contact Jody for the Zoom link.

Who we donate to:  Nyer Urness House, Cheryl Chow Court, the Bridge Care Center, and the Ballard Urban Rest Stop.
