Bringing green to a new plane
On Earth day the NW Ecobuilding Guild will host an introduction to Green Walls. We will cover the design, construction, details and maintenance of these beautiful and environmentally beneficial structures. Come and meet some of the people who design and build Green Walls in the Northwest. The event will take place at the Phinney neighborhood Center (lower brick building) from 7 pm – 9 pm. Speaker: Nicolas Rousseau
Nicolas Rousseau is an engineer in horticulture. His experience in the living wall industry started many years ago in France. He now teaches the well regarded Living Wall course at the British Columbia Institute of Technology ( http://commons.bcit.ca/greenroof/about-us/our-team/). Nicolas is also President at ByNature ( www.bynaturedesign.ca), which is a company that specializes in vertical technologies in order to integrate nature indoors (as well as outdoors).Details:
Location: Phinney Neighborhood Center – lower brick building, 6532 Phinney Ave N Seattle, WA 98103. From the lower parking lot, go down the stairs into the building, and we’re in the left room on the lower level.
Free for members. $10 suggested donation for non-members.
