The Ballard Tool Library is still growing, and would love your help!

Howzit, everyone!

It’s been another whirlwind month at the Ballard Tool Library as we faced a “spend it or lose it” deadline with our grant.  But the good news is, thanks to the City of Seattle’s NMF Community Partnerships Fund,  we just brought in a whole lot of great stuff to ensure you make the best of the beautiful Ballard summer!  We’ve said for a long time that BTL is about more than just tools, and with our incoming 10X10 canopies, 10X20 canopy, projector, PA system, drink dispensers, and more, you’ll have everything you need to make all of your fun summer events a success!

In addition to party supplies, we also purchased some awesome new tools based on input from the community: a cordless mower, a cordless cultivator / tiller, a bigger power washer, and a chipper / shredder, as well as various accessories, bits, and blades.  Be sure to stop by to see all of this exciting stuff!

But as great as all of this is, the Ballard Tool Library really needs your help.  We are a small but dedicated group of volunteers, and we’ve even been open every week including holidays such as Easter, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day.  However, in the upcoming months, without additional help we will be forced to close the tool library some days or reduce hours due to lack of staffing (most likely Sundays).  Our number one goal is to help the community of Ballard, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, but everyone knows how special the summer is in Seattle and we want some time to play too!  Of course, with enough volunteers, we could even consider expanding open hours, so if you’ve ever thought about volunteering with the tool library, helping out your neighbors, and maybe even learning a thing or two, let us know!
