Port of Seattle Candidate Forum – June 29

Our Environment and a Working Waterfront

As the Polar Pioneer recently in Terminal 5 aptly demonstrates, the Seattle Port Commission holds significant power over the direction of our city’s working waterfront. On June 29th, please join us (see hosts listed below) for a candidate forum to hear directly from Port of Seattle Commissioner candidates about how they will address pressing environmental and economic issues facing the Port including:

~ Their vision for a working waterfront in the face of climate change impacts;
~ Plans to ensure the Port of Seattle remains competitive with other west coast ports;
~ Transparent government process;
~ Duwamish river and superfund cleanup;
~ Competitive, living wage jobs
~ Air pollution and traffic congestion;
~ And much more!

This event is hosted by: Washington Environmental Council, Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition/Technical Advisory Group, League of Women Voters, One America Votes, Washington Conservation Voters, Sierra Club (Seattle Chapter), Puget Soundkeeper Alliance, Climate Solutions, Puget Sound Sage and Puget Sound Advocates for Retirement Action.
