Global Café: Taking Action on Climate – Responses, Challenges, and Opportunities

March 15 @ 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM

Washingtonrefinery

Global Cafe is a YPIN (Young Professionals International Network) discussion series where participants get together to examine and analyze some of the biggest global challenges of our day. On March 15th, we will discuss climate action on international, national, and local levels across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. During this unique event participants will hear perspectives from leading experts in the field and have the opportunity to contribute to the conversation.

Special guests will include Jürgen Salay, current EU fellow at the Center for West European Studies and the European Union Center. Mr. Salay is an expert on European climate policy with close to 20 years of professional experience in preparing, negotiating and implementing climate legislation on national and European Union (EU) levels.

YPIN, non-YPIN members, and first-timers are all welcome. Before each event, some background materials on the topic will be added to the Facebook page. It’s helpful to read the articles before the discussion, but don’t worry if you haven’t. Part of the discussion is to help each other catch up on the facts.

Please support our hosts at Ballard Pizza Co. by enjoying some food and beverages during the event.

This event is being held in partnership with the Center for West European Studies at the University of Washington.
