Free Letters Home now at the Whittier Heights Tiny House Village

A letter home.  That could be the first small step to reconnecting homeless individuals with their loved ones, to re-establish a relationship long neglected, or simply to say “I’m ok”.  This is the goal of Free Letters Home™, a Sustainable Ballard project that has been operating since July of 2013 on the second Tuesday evening of each month at Nyer Urness House.

Now we are adding a new opportunity — every other Tuesday @ 3:30pm at the Whittier Heights Tiny House Village.  Starting August 27th, Free Letters Home™ will be at the WH Tiny House Village with pens and paper, cards and stationary, envelopes and stamps — everything one needs to send a note, letter or postcard to a friend, relative or loved one. Following dates:
Sept 10 & 24, Oct 8 & 22, Nov 5 & 19, and Dec 3 & 17.

Given the major holidays coming up in the fall and early winter, we are requesting donations of cards for Halloween, Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas or general “Happy Holidays”.

If you would like to donate cards, or if this is something that you might be interested in volunteering for, please contact Andrea.
