Ballard Sprouts Deliver Veggie Starts

The reinvigorated Ballard Sprouts project has delivered pea and onion starts to the Ballard Food Bank which were gladly received and flying off the shelves immediately!

Our small but passionate group known as the Ballard Sprouts had recently revived this beloved community gardening project. Their mission is simple: to nurture and grow fresh vegetables starts to support those in need.

After weeks of diligent care and watering, the Sprouts team proudly delivered their pea starts and onion sets to the Ballard Food Bank. The staff there welcomed the generous donation with warm smiles and gratitude, knowing how much these young plants would mean to the community.

Almost immediately, the veggie starts found eager new owners who are happy to be able to grow some of their own food. The project is a shining example of community spirit and sustainability—showing that with a little care and teamwork, hope and nourishment can grow right in our own neighborhood.

And so, the Ballard Sprouts continue to cultivate starts in our new greenhouse, and the bonds that makes our community stronger—one veggie start at a time.
