Popular Free Letters Home Project Needs Postage
It was very busy last Tuesday at the Ballard Food Bank where our Free Letters Home project offers cards, postage, and assistance connecting through letter/card writing. We gave out over 63 cards which is a record high! One client came by to take two more cards as she related her story of getting in touch with her sister utilizing a previous card and stamp.
She wrote:
“Thank you for the card and stamp! I sent it to my sister in California who also has been going through rough times and it really lifted her spirits! There’s nothing like getting a card hand-written from loved ones. Thank you so very much! Love Heather”
Connecting meaningfully with friends, family, and community is essential to mental health and increases our sense of belonging. So many Ballard Food Bank Clients have seen us regularly on Tuesdays coming with postage and cards. As the popularity of this project has only grown our need for cards and postage has also grown. Special thanks to Ballard Sip & Ship for donating Father’s Day and congratulations cards. Please consider donations of postage so we can continue this important work.
