Pollinator Week is June 16th-22nd

It’s time again to celebrate all of our hardworking pollinators! This is a time to raise awareness for pollinators and spread the word about what we can do to protect them. The great thing about Pollinator Week is that you can celebrate and get involved any way you like! Popular events include planting for pollinators, hosting garden tours-like our very own 16th Annual Edible Garden Tour, participating in online bee and butterfly ID workshops, and so much more. Click here to find out more!

Locally, Saturday June 21st the Ballard Locks will host Pollinator Day with many local non-profits and pollinator experts. This fun event is from 9am-2pm. So be sure to walk, bike, or bus over to join the celebration and learn how you can help our pollinators. Something as simple as a d.i.y. “pollinator water station” can make a big difference to these small but very important creatures.

There are many other great events during pollinator week and beyond. Tuesday June 17th join our friends at Old Stove Gardens while they host Tilth Alliance for pollinator pints. This is an opportunity to connect with community, engage with Tilth staff, and find out the many ways pollinators help us grow our food. As part of the “Giving in the Garden” series at OS Gardens $1 from every pint will be donated to Tilth Alliance. So come out and show your support while celebrating our pollinators!
