Panel on Home Sharing: A new model for our community? – Oct 14

Saturday, 9:30am – 11am
Phinney Neighborhood Assoc. Brick Building – the lower building down from 6532 Phinney Ave N.

The Phinney Neighborhood Assoc. (PNA) Village invites you to join Gene Balk, the FYI Guy columnist for the Seattle Times, to hear a panel of area organizations that run home sharing programs. Home sharing is when a home provider offers a room to a home seeker in exchange for some form of financial exchange, assistance with household tasks, or just simply for companionship. It is not a typical landlord/tenant situation. Home sharing done right reduces housing expenses, increases security of both the home seeker and the home provider, and helps preserve the sense of community in a neighborhood. For years Seattle Senior Services ran a home sharing program. This meeting is the first step for our community to learn more about the topic. FREE. For more information contact Riana Nolet: RianaN@phinneycenter.org.

The PNA Village collaborates with Sustainable Ballard to grow a member and volunteer base in Ballard.
