In 2016 the Farmers’ Market Gleaning Team took over 9,000 pounds of fresh healthy produce that was donated by the Farmers at the Ballard Sunday Farmers’ Market to the Ballard Food Bank. The team also transported about 750 pounds of apples that were provided by the Farmers’ Market for the children’s back pack meal program. We are looking for more volunteers for 2017. If you are excited about seeing produce go to the Food Bank rather than the compost pile, this is the project for you! Contact Jennifer@sustainableballard.
