Climate Science on Tap! – Ask a Scientist – Aug 26 (we’ll be there)

Hot Planet / Cool Science and Solutions
Monday, August 26, 2019, 5:30 to 8:30 pm
Lagunitas Tap House and Beer Sanctuary
1550 NW 49th St. – Ballard

Cascadia Climate Action’s Climate Science on Tap – Ask a Scientist! event will bring over thirty scientists out to answer your questions about climate change and clean energy over a beer. Sustainable Ballard will be there with a table and information about all of our programs — including our 16th Annual Festival on Saturday, September 28th.

On Monday, August 26, from 5:30 to 8:30pm, Lagunitas Brewing Company in Ballard will host up to 300 people of all ages to sit down with diverse experts including scientists, engineers, and policy makers and ask them questions about the causes, impacts, and solutions to climate change. Local organizations working to stop climate change will be on hand with quick and easy ways for anyone to get involved. Hands-on science demonstrations, a climate bingo game, a raffle with great prizes, a food truck, and – of course – Lagunitas beer will add to the fun! This annual event is the highlight of Cascadia Climate Action’s “Climate Science of Tap” series of brewery-hosted panel discussions to build community understanding of and engagement with climate change.

Cascadia Climate Action (CCA) is a Seattle-based all-volunteer organization raising community awareness and engagement for clean energy and action on climate change. For over five years, CCA has connected concerned members of the public with climate organizations in the Pacific Northwest that drive advocacy and education. For people who want to do something about climate change and don’t know where to start, CCA’s one stop calendar is a clearinghouse for events and action opportunities in the region. Through the popular “Climate Science on Tap” event series (featured on King 5 News), hundreds of people hear from panels of experts on climate-related issues at breweries around Seattle. Cascadia Climate Action is a non-profit project under the fiscal sponsorship of CascadiaNow! a 501(c)(3) IRS recognized nonprofit entity. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.

CCA’s Ask a Scientist event is a great way to increase your understanding of the climate crisis and then link up with organizations and individuals hard at work on climate solutions.
