“So, Dear Writer…: An It’s About Time Writers’ Reading Series Anthology” proceeds to Support Sustainable Ballard
The “It’s About Time Writers’ Reading Series” is delighted to be able to share the proceeds of its first anthology with Sustainable Ballard, “So, Dear Writer…” published by Cave Moon Press. “So, Dear Writer…” contains craft talks presented over the years. The book is both practical and inspiring.
“So, Dear Writer…” is available at Secret Garden Bookshop, and online through Cave Moon Press or by contacting Peggy Sturdivant, editor, directly by email. Seattle’s Branch Library will also give “It’s About Time” a permanent home.
You may recognize Peggy Sturdivant as the columnist At Large in Ballard. Sturdivant says, “we are delighted to be able to support the many, many causes of Sustainable Ballard.”
The History of “It’s About Time”
Seattle poet and writing teacher Esther Altshul Helfgott produced the first “It’s About Time” Reading Series in 1990 at the Ravenna-Bryant Senior Center. Her North Seattle Community College Senior Adult Education Program students were among those who read their work. Hundreds of local writers, new and experienced, are the series alums.
It’s About Time celebrated its 365th reading, and first online one in April 2020 with the launch of its own YouTube channel. In normal times the group meets on the second Thursday of each month from 6:00 p.m. – 7:45 p.m. at the Seattle Public Library’s Ballard Branch.
