Bringing in Ballard: Stories on Maritime Waterways – Apr 22
With all the changes happening around Ballard . . . and thanks to Low Income Housing Institute and grant funding from the City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods – we have decided to get together as family, friends and old and new neighbors to enjoy food, arts, music and great stories of Ballard’s past present and future. Within all the change there are always stories to share of good people doing good things in good towns. Let’s honor THAT Ballard!
This month’s Friday Night Social will focus on Ballard Maritime Waterways. It is a community potluck with dessert sponsored by Ballard Mighty O Donuts!
Bring out your family, friends and neighbors to the Sea Shanty Sing Along from 6:30 – 7:00 with The Whateverly Brothers. Continue on to enjoy stories from the Gustafson / Anderson family telling tales of Fisherman Terminal Fishing Families followed by The Pakker Family of the Shilshole Live Aboard Community and closing with Native American Coast Salish Paul Che oke ten Wagner playing flute / drum and telling stories of sustainable connection and respect of our waterways for sharing with future generations.
BRING THE KIDS! There will be crafts!
And remember canned / packaged food for the The Ballard Food Bank.
We anticipate having a great time! Come gather to enjoy the time together and if you are interested – there will information available to learn on ways of getting involved in making a better Ballard!
