“From the moment we learned about rain gardens we have been sold on them! We were first introduced to the rain garden concept with the park on 17th Ave NW. We then learned of the RainWise initiative to protect the Sound from storm water runoff when the City began installing rain gardens just north of us.

We love the “natural” feeling of the rain gardens. In our property’s landscape evolution we have tried to recreate a more naturalized setting, pulling out quite a bit of lawn and planting about 14 or so trees thus far.

We’ve wanted to do something interesting with the north side of our property for quite a while, and when the RainWise program began we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the program and create a totally new landscape, while helping the Sound at the same time. We couldn’t be more pleased!
