Ballard Sunday Dinners — “It is such a welcoming environment”

Every Sunday evening at 5pm, volunteers and friends gather together to share a meal.  Join your community and lend a hand to cook, serve, or clean by contacting Camilla.

This ritual of healthy food and nourishing community started when Ballardites realized Sundays were the only night each week that a seated, indoor meal wasn’t offered in our neighborhood. Five local churches rallied together to fill that gap, with Ballard First Lutheran Church graciously hosting. As the cost of living increases in our city, these dinners are increasingly important- so Sustainable Ballard joined the team to recruit volunteers!
“I love getting to talk with my neighbors over some healthy food on a cold January night,” said Sustainable Ballard volunteer Andrew Hackett last week as we finished sweeping the kitchen. “It is such a welcoming environment.”
Please join us to share a delicious meal and and build neighborhood connections. Contact Camilla to join as a volunteer, or just show up every Sunday at 5pm for dinner.  At Ballard First Lutheran:  2006 NW 65th St.
