21 Acres Class: One Food, Five Very Tasty Ways–Farm Fresh Carrots – June 22

Remember how your mom used to tell you to eat your carrots because they’d help you see well in the dark? Turns out she was right yet again! Join culinary instructor and classic Japanese Chef Yuka Honda in this hands-on class exploring the many ways to use local, sustainably grown carrots in your daily meals and snacks. Yuka will guide guests in making a full meal including fried carrot leaves, pureed soft boiled carrots with a kick, rustic farro with minced carrots, baby carrots in a flavorful sauce, and an eye-appealing dessert!

Yuka has been sharing healthy living life style in her Japanese community for many years. She learned importance of food and environments to sustain one’s health after her experience with the Chernobyl nuclear accident . Now she teaches simple easy tasty vegetable home cooking. She shares simple recipes, teach easy cooking technique and tells traditional wisdom with 21st century scientific knowledge.
