Description: Audubon’s authentic, bi-partisan voice means that we can work across the aisle and build durable policies that benefit birds and people. Your voice is needed in Olympia!
With a broad coalition of groups in the 2018 legislative session, Audubon Washington is calling on our elected officials to support a 100% Clean Energy Standard. Passage of this policy would set the state on a path toward 100% clean energy by 2050, including the phasing out of coal from Washington’s utility rates by 2030. It would also make Washington a true climate leader as the first state in the country to ban new gas for electricity generation. The policy would achieve an approximately 70 percent reduction in electricity-sector carbon emissions by 2035, and full decarbonization of Washington’s electricity sector, the second largest source of state emissions, by the 2040s.
What to expect at Lobby Day:

- Meetings with Elected Officials – Meet face-to-face with your representatives in the legislature and share your support for climate action and why it’s important to you. We will set up all meetings – you just need to come!
