New Economy Circle

local dollars

Inspired by David Korten’s book Agenda for a New Economy, this group focuses on learning together about building a “New Economy” — a local economy that is more sustainable (less dependent on Wall Street), more just and more in line with the community’s needs. What needs to happen for us to move our investments safely from Wall Street to Main Street? How can the community support local small business?

We’re a book group with an action orientation!

We’ve explored local investment models and collective ownership business models among other elements of this New Economy.     Other New Economy topics of interest include building support for a State Bank, barter, time banking, local currency, Move Your Money project, and more.  Have a book to recommend?  Want to explore other ways to strengthen our local economy?  Please join us!

Newcomers always welcome.  Contact Orna for more information.
