Ballard Tool Library closing in on 1,000 tools!

It’s been an exciting month at the Ballard Tool Library and we have some great news.  Thanks to a grant from the City of Seattle through the Neighborhood Matching Fund Community Partnerships Fund, we’ve been able to add some brand new tools to our inventory, all sourced directly from our community wish list!  Our new items include a pressure washer, air compressor, finish nailer, brad nailer, pneumatic stapler, pole pruner, garden shears, extension ladder, power dethatcher, power edger, chainsaw blades, bike repair stand, and a complete set of bike tools.  Be sure to stop by and check ’em out!  Plus, we still have some extra money in the budget, so if there’s something you’d really like to see added to our growing catalog, don’t hesitate to contact us on Facebook or by email.  We will be reaching our 1000th tool any day now!
In addition to the tools that we bought, Five Corners Hardware in Queen Anne generously donated over $250 in new Craftsman automotive tools.  Show your support for the businesses that support the Ballard Tool Library and stop by Five Corners for your home improvement and garden needs.  Thanks Five Corners!
Finally, I want to thank all of the volunteers that have helped out at the tool library, especially those who watched the tool library while I was travelling.  As a volunteer- and donation-driven project, we won’t be successful without the support of our community, and with so much to do, we can always use more help.  Whether it’s cataloging tools, helping your neighbors with projects, or doing outreach, even one day a month can make a big difference.  With enough help, we could even expand our hours!  Again, thanks to everyone who has already helped and thanks in advance to those who are looking to get involved.
