Ballard Prepares

Ballard Prepares is a voluntary network of committed individuals and organizations working to help Ballard neighborhoods immediately deal with catastrophic natural disasters and to recover after the disaster. Ballard Prepares is developing six Emergency Communication Hubs that will activate after a major disaster to establish communication with the city of Seattle’s Emergency Operations Center and to assist in the coordination of local available resources provided by residents, organizations, and businesses. Ballard Prepares also works to educate the entire Ballard community on emergency preparedness in advance of a disaster.

Sustainable Ballard is one of many organizations collaborating in the Ballard Prepares initiative to create an emergency plan for the neighborhood.  The six emergency hubs for Ballard and Crown Hill are:
