Fix Democracy First and the Meaningful Movies Project Present: “The People vs the Politicians” – Dec 6

A Documentary by Hedrick Smith

Join Fix Democracy First and the Meaningful Movies Project for a very special event to watch and discuss the new film by Hedrick Smith and Northern Lights Productions.

For every flaw in our politics – dark money, vote suppression, gerrymandering, Citizens United, Mega-Donors, hyper-partisanship – grassroots reformers are putting solutions to work at the state level. This is not a story of left vs right, Republicans vs Democrats. It’s a story of the People vs the Politicians, of We the People rising up against fat cats and entrenched power – and winning.

The film features several successful people-powered efforts from around the country, including a segment on Washington State’s Initiative 735 grassroots campaign led by WAmend, that made Washington the 18th state to call for a U.S. Constitutional amendment to overturn decisions like Citizens United.
