Learn the age-old art of canning and capture ‘sunshine in a jar’ with fresh, local fruit from nearby farms. After a short presentation on the basics, small teams will work together to make and process a batch of jam from Washington-grown, fresh peaches. You’ll be able to transfer the skills you learn to be able to can other tasty fruits at home. Bring a friend or come make new friends. Everyone takes home a jar of just-made jam!
This class is taught by canning expert and Washington State agricultural guru, Kate Ryan, Food Safety Assistant for WSU Snohomish County Extension. Come have fun learning from Kate who is a dynamo, and get inspired to preserve the summer.
