@ The Fest – Fun for Kids

We have SO many fun activities for kids at this year’s Festival!

Make your very own candle holder using Ballard Tool Library’s drill press! This is a big tool and you’ll have a chance to learn how to safely use it while making a cool DIY project.

Bring your own container and press some apples into delicious apple cider to enjoy at the Festival or take home. Our friends at Collins Family Orchard are providing the fruit and YOU provide the muscles to press those apples!

Bring your own rubber ducky for the rubber ducky races (or borrow one of ours!). Plant a pea seed with Ballard Sprouts of make your own jigsaw puzzle or crazy art with Seattle Parks. Try out the solar race car track from our exhibitors Puget Sound Solar, do some coloring with The Sierra Club and Seattle Public Utilities, pick up free Fall season seeds to plant from Tilth’s Garden Hotline Team, stop by the Urban Tumbleweed podcast and tell the host what sustainability means to you, play cornhole with Town & Country Markets, get free stickers from Geer Garage and plant your own succulent with Aegis Ballard. How about a green building materials touch and feel education station with Built Green or some bike trivia with Ballard Fremont Greenways? Check out the micro-nursery with Grow It Forward Restoration or some cool electric cars with Seattle Electric Vehicle Association. Plus, even more!

We’ll have plenty of hula hoops for everyone to swing around while enjoying live music throughout the day. At 11:30 am, a kids band from Seattle Drum School called Reign City Rockers! These kids know how to rock out. You don’t want to miss it!
