RainWise is worth jumping up and down about!

“Through the RainWise program we diverted rain from our roof away from the combined sewer system and into four 205 gallon cisterns.  During the wet months that water slowly drains to our new rain garden.  In the dry months we can harvest the water to use for our lawn.

While my wife was most excited about turning one corner of our lawn into a beautifully landscaped rain garden, I was thrilled to be able to use some of our captured rainwater for our lawn, saving resources for us and for the city.  In the process, we are diverting 35,000 – 40,000 gallons of water per year away from the neighborhood Combined Sewer Overflows – doing our part to help keep the Puget Sound clean for generations to come.”
