Learn to knit! Learn new knitting skills! Bring yarn and needles if you have them - and some to share with those who don't if you can. Jody Grage is leading this group for anyone who would enjoy getting together monthly to knit simple hats and scarves for community members who do not have a warm home next Fall and Winter. No prior experience necessary! Jody will teach easy, pretty patterns and walk you through your project.

Repeats every second Friday, same time and place. All welcome!

November 26th marks our 5th Annual Holiday Barter event. The Holiday Barter is a great opportunity to share your talents with others in the community and take home some great sustainable holiday gift items. It falls just after Thanksgiving to start off the gifting season. Bring your homegrown or home-crafted items or gift certificates for home services such as baby-sitting, weeding or housecleaning. If you are bringing edible items, such as pickles, jams or chocolates, we encourage you to provide some samples.

This is a family event! Trading is informal and provide music, cookies, tea and hot cider. We'll also have a holiday crafts-making area. Start planning your offerings now!!

Garden Work Party at Schwabacher House

On Friday, November 30th, from 10 am until 4 pm, the Just Garden Project, Seattle’s P-patch program, and Seattle Housing Authority’s Schwabacher House are teaming up to build a garden at 1715 NW 59th St, Seattle, WA, 98107. The 11th anniversary of the WTO protest will be met with shovels, dirt and plants. We will erect four 30” tall raised beds for the seniors of Schwabacher. We are looking for a volunteer carpenter to help assemble the beds, people to help remove sod, place beds, fill beds with soil, and lay crushed concrete around the 2 beds going in on the parking strip.
