About the Film:  While the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) has helped some people, many of us are feeling the pinch of rising costs and narrowing networks. It has become apparent that insurance-based healthcare is not effective for keeping costs down and giving everyone access to needed medical care. We’ve now seen enough to know that many aspects of healthcare access and coverage still remain unsolved. There is a better way. People need to know that the tide is already turning, the tipping point is near. And they need to know that change is happening because of them.

Please join Meaningful Movies : Sustainable Ballard for a screening of “Now Is the Time: Healthcare for Everybody” on Sunday, March 25th @ 3pm at Royal Drummer Cafe, 6420 – 24th Ave NW.  PLEASE NOTE NEW START TIME.  We invite you to stay after the film to hear from Dana Iorio and Rich Lague, of Physicians for a National Health Program-Western Washington.

  • Dana Iorio is a Family Nurse Practitioner working at Harborview in a primary care internal medicine clinic.  She has lived in Seattle since 1980 and has been involved in single payer health care activity since 1989 when she joined what is now called Physicians for a National Health Program-Western Washington.  Dana is also involved in Health Care For All-Washington, a group working for universal health care in WA State.
  • Rich Lague is a retired Physical Therapist who has been advocating for Single Payer Health Care financing since 1991.  Rich was very involved in the Measure 23 campaign for Single Payer health care financing in Oregon in 2002.  He grew up in Bothell, but lived most of his adult in Corvallis, OR.  Rich moved back to Seattle in 2008.
