21 Acres: Yes You Can! – Feb 6

Our popular canning class is back for the winter months. Join the 21 Acres’ kitchen team and a Registered Dietitian for a hands-on canning experience. Learn some new recipes and take home two jars of produce that you’ve helped can in a safe and effective manner. Take the pressure out of canning by learning from our grandmothers tradition: without the fancy pressure canner.

Friday, February 6, 2015; 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

On the menu for February is cranberry ketchup and apple chutney. (March and April TBD.) Sit down with the presenter(s) after class for Q&A and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Instructors: Matt Keen, 21 Acres’ Nutrition and Local Food Education Coordinator, and the 21 Acres Kitchen Team- Asako Sullivan and Sue Skaggs.

Registration is required in advance for culinary programs. All proceeds benefit educational programming at 21 Acres and initiatives related to accelerating social change toward more sustainable ways of growing, eating and living that protect the environment while supporting a better quality of life.
